Oliver Seitz
Oliver James Seitz, 26, of Holualoa, died Nov. 5, 2018, at the Kona Community Hospital. He was born in California on Jan. 9, 1992.
Scattering of ashes and celebration of life will be held.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Harber of Kailua-Kona; father, Mark Seitz of Kealakekua; sister, Madeleine Seitz of Kailua-Kona; half sister, Jasmine (Angela) Season; maternal grandmother, Ruth Harber of Illinois; paternal grandmother, Catherine Seitz of California; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Karen Hatayama
Karen H. Hatayama, 55, of Honolulu, died Oct. 9, 2018, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a legal secretary and was also a member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji.
Private family services were held. No flowers or koden.
She is survived by her companion, Michael Lorusso of Honolulu; parents, Larry and May Hatayama of Hilo; brother, Neal (Jo-Ann) Hatayama of Hilo; a niece, a nephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Zachary Gibson
Zachary “Zack” Bradford Gibson, 52, of Honokaa, died Nov. 4, 2018, at Pohai Malama in Hilo. Born on May 12, 1966, in the Philippines, at the Subic Bay U.S. Naval Base. He was a Native Hawaiian farmer of medicinal plants for Pu’u’ala Farms; founder and owner of the Kanaka Kava restaurant, a traditional Awa bar in Kona.
A celebration of life to be held at a future date.
He is survived by his parents William E. Gibson and Kahala-Ann Trask Gibson, sister Haunani Trask Gibson, brother William Trask Gibson, former wife Johanna Gibson and many extended family members.

Kenneth Warner
Kenneth A. Warner, 74, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 9, 2018, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born on August 8, 1944, in Stafford, Connecticut.

Kenneth is survived by his brother Richard (Dorothy) Warner of Connecticut; sister Lois Warner of Connecticut.

Clifford Nagao
Clifford Kinji Nagao, 93, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, died Aug. 3, 2018, in the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Kurtistown Jan. 5, 1925, he was a retired police officer, airport security officer and farmer.

He is survived by daughter, Carol Tanaka of Honolulu; sons, Jay Nagao of Lafayette, Indiana, Guy Nagao of Los Angeles, California and Steve Nagao of Los Angeles, California; brother, Robert (Janette) Nagao of Honolulu; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons.

Margaret Hiyama
Margaret Masako Hiyama, 84, of Hilo, died Nov. 14, 2018, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was formerly a registered nurse at the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu, an obstetrical nurse at the Hilo Medical Center and a member of New Hope Hilo.
A graveside service will take place at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 24 at Homelani Memorial Park (Lehua Section). Family requests no flowers and no koden (memorial gifts).
Survived by sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Kawamoto of Kaneohe, Marian Hiyama of Hilo; brother, Robert Hiyama of Los Angeles; numerous nieces, nephews &cousins.

Janet Hamamoto
Janet Hatsuyo Hamamoto, 59, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, died Nov. 7, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Jan. 8, 1959, in Pahala, she was a co-owner of K. Hamamoto Farms, had worked for the former Hilo Radio Appliance and was a member of Soka Gakkai International-USA.

She is survived by husband, Kert Hamamoto of Kurtistown; daughters, Jennifer Hamamoto and Kristy Hamamoto of Kurtistown; mother, Tomeyo Kawakami of Naalehu; brothers, Kent Kawakami of Naalehu, Glen (Trisha) Kawakami of Honolulu; sisters, Aileen (Steve) Oyama and Iris (Michael) Subica of Naalehu; numerous nieces and nephews.

Julia Amaral
Julia K. Amaral, 85, of Naalehu, died Nov. 3, 2018, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Naalehu, she was a former sewing instructor, X-ray technician assistant for the State Dept. of Health, a food services manager assistant for Naalehu School, a homemaker, and a member of the Naalehu Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Friends may call 8:30-10 a.m. Nov. 24 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. memorial service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Nov. 26 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2 for graveside urn committal services.
She is survived by her sons, Michael T. (Bernalda) Amaral of Kealia, Melvin T. Amaral of Ewa Beach and Peter B. Amaral, Jr. of Naalehu; daughter, Cynthia M. (Michael) Tonini of Naalehu; brothers, Frank (Rita) Kahakua of Ewa Beach, James (Nora) Kahakua of Honolulu and Herbert (Karen) Kahakua of Ocean View; a brother-in-law; sisters, Gladys Wilson of Naalehu, Elizabeth (Chris) Asuncion of Kona and Eleanor Kepner of Honolulu; a sister-in-law; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces &nephews.
